Exhibit Information

Developed in partnership with the American Library Association and made possible by a grant from the John Templeton Foundation and support from the Peter Buck Human Origins Fund (Smithsonian), Exploring Human Origins: What Does It Mean to Be Human? is a 1200-square-foot traveling exhibition of panels, interactive kiosks, engaging media presentations, 3D skull casts, and a life-sized Neanderthal mother and child statue from the Smithsonian's Hall of Human Origins. Its purpose is to engage audiences around the country to explore the wonder of the scientific discoveries concerning human evolution and how these findings connect to diverse personal and societal perspectives about who we are as a species and why it matters.

Exploring Human Origins: What Does It Mean to Be Human? will be on display at William Smith Morton Library on the campus of Union Presbyterian Seminary (3401 Brook Rd., Richmond, VA) from August 14 until November 15, 2024. For more information about times and dates, see here: Exploring Human Origins!. The exhibition is free and open to the public.
