Digital Streaming and Physical Audiovisual Media in the IRC

The Library offers a variety of audio and visual streaming licenses to our faculty, staff and students. However, since each company organizes their content and access differently, we created this guide to help you navigate our offerings.

Audiovisual Media Overview

Union Presbyterian Seminary Library has been acquiring audiovisual material for decades, first as the Reigner Sound Recording Library, then more generally under the auspices of the William Smith Morton Library on our Richmond campus.  We have since added videos and DVDs to that physical collection.

Several years ago, we recognized the need to obtain streaming services to our collection as well. While these materials are not technically *owned* by the Library, we license them for a period of months or even years. Some vendors provide curated collections of materials for us, while others offer per-title licenses.

We actively add licenses to individual titles when they are needed. IF YOU WISH WE OFFERED SOMETHING THAT YOU DO NOT SEE, PLEASE CONTACT DORA ROWE (804-278-4324) TO REQUEST ACCESS!

Accessing Streaming Media

Streaming media titles and platforms are accessible on & off campus. Off-campus access requires login using your library barcode number and PIN and for some streaming platforms these credentials may be required on-campus as well. The access methods are, in general, the same for our eBooks. If it is your first time accessing our e-resources from off campus, you may find these electronic resources access instructions useful.

If you have difficulty logging-in, please contact Ryan Douthat (804) 278-4217 or email rdouthat@upsem.edu.

If you want to request a new title, please contact Dora Rowe (804) 278-4324 or email drowe@upsem.edu.
