When doing research, it is important to find information that is reliable and appropriate

You may be required to use certain types of sources, such as primary or secondary sources, or specific types of periodicals, such as scholarly journals. You may be required to limit the number of sources you use. Often, Internet sources fall into this category.

In all cases, you should always evaluate the information included in your research paper.

Why Evaluate?

Once you have identified your topic and compiled your research materials from books, journals, and the Internet, you need to analyze the materials for such elements as credibility, usefulness, importance, and consistency, because not everything you locate will be suitable for your needs.
